Follow the two steps below to make sure your LEAPWORK installation matches your license type and to identify whether you are required to take action.

STEP 1: Identify your LEAPWORK license type

Platform License

A. Standard Platform

For teams collaborating on the design of automation flows which are executed by multiple robots.

Single-User License

D

For small setups with access to all platform components, but installation limited to a single computer

STEP 2: Identify your current installation

When you've identified your LEAPWORK license type, please proceed by finding your current installation, which should match one of the following four scenarios. Each installation scenario is described in detail below to confirm whether your setup is ready for the 2018.1 upgrade. Not sure which installation you have? Please contact our Customer Success Team.

A. Standard Platform

      

Installation description

All LEAPWORK components are installed on separate machines.

All users working with LEAPWORK have Studio installed on their computer.

All Studios point to the same Controller on a shared server for collaboration.

The LEAPWORK Agents are installed on dedicated workstations (physical or virtual).

FailSingle-user License is NOT supported

With a Platform License and the Standard Platform installation type, your installation plan is ready for the 2018.1 upgrade.

This installation type cannot be used with a Single-User License from release 2018.1. A Single-User License requires all LEAPWORK components to be installed on the same machine.

B. Standard Single-User installation

      

Installation description

One Studio, one Controller, and one Agent are installed on the same machine,
for each Single-User License.

This installation type can be used with a Platform License but is generally not a good fit. Instead of acquiring a Platform License for each machine, consider a Single-User License instead.

With one or more Single-User Licenses, and the Standard Single-User installation, you're ready for the upgrade to 2018.1.

This setup has Studio, Controller, and an Agent installed, each on separate machines.
