Validating steps and driving SAP automation with data

With Leapwork, you can validate values and items in SAP as you go, and drive your automation flows with data from external sources.

When building and executing automated tests in SAP, validation is essential. For this reason, Leapwork has made it incredibly easy to validate data values and items as you go. Similarly, Leapwork makes it straightforward to look for data or receive it from an external data source or variable.

In this video, we will cover:

  1. How to use SAP validation blocks
  2. How to drive SAP automation with data

Data-driven automation in SAP

Using an automated technique such as data-driven testing comes in handy when there are a number of data sets that you have to run the same tests on.

Through data-driven testing, you keep the data separate from functional tests, which allows you to execute the same test script for different combinations.

By doing this you can generate test scripts with less code, since all the information is already documented. And by doing this, it is possible to improve test coverage and reduce unnecessary duplication of test scripts.

As a result, testers' can spend their time where it is more valuable and employ a more exploratory approach while increasing flexibility in application maintenance.

Leapwork enables you to drive automation with data in SAP, in the same way that it does for web and desktop automation. You can find more about data-driven tests and parameterization, in the dedicated section in the Leapwork learning center.
