This guide outlines the key steps and requirements for onboarding new clients to the trial, ensuring a smooth and efficient setup process.
Before starting the trial, please provide the following details:
Check the Operating System
Make sure your system or virtual machine (VM) meets both the OS and hardware requirements for Leapwork Studio:
Verify Your Admin Privileges
It is necessary to have admin rights on your computer to install Leapwork Studio.
Install .NET Framework
Before installation, ensure .NET 4.8 framework is installed on the machine where you plan to set up Leapwork Studio .
Download Leapwork Build and Install Studio
Download the latest Leapwork release provided to you.
Once the product is installed, follow these steps to configure the connection:
Open the studio.config file located at:C:\Users\(userprofilename)\AppData\Local\Leapwork
Add the following details provided by Leapwork:
trial.leapwork.cloud
https://trial-api.leapwork.cloud:9001/help/index
We’ve provided several pre-defined automation flows to help you get started quickly. You can also create your own custom flows and start automating processes right away.
Flow 1: Open website in Chrome Browser
In this flow, Leapwork will launch the Chrome browser, open the Leapwork | AI-Powered Test Automation Platform website, and complete the form to request a trial license.
Steps in the flow:
Open the Chrome web browser.
Navigate to the Leapwork | AI-Powered Test Automation Platform website.
Click Start Trial button.
Fill out the order form.
Once completed, you will have successfully filled out the form.
Flow 2: D365 - Successful Sales Order
This flow demonstrates Leapwork’s capability to automate processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Applications. It automates the entire process of successfully picking a sales order in Dynamics 365.
Steps in the flow:
Log in to the Dynamics 365 application.
Navigate to Sales and Marketing > Sales Orders > All Sales Orders.
Select the desired sales order from the list.
Mark the selected row.
Click Update Line.
Click Pick.
Click Add Picking Line.
Click Confirm Pick All.
Click Save & Close.
Once completed, you will have successfully filled out the form.
Flow 3: Salesforce - Create/Edit favourite list
This flow demonstrates Leapwork’s capability to automate the process of managing the favorites list in Salesforce .
Steps in the flow:
Log in to Salesforce.
Open any page from the Navigation Bar and add it to Favorites.
Click the Favorites icon at the top-right of the page.
Click Edit Favorites.
Search for the page you successfully added to Favorites.
Verify that the page is present in the Favorites list.
This flow automates the process of managing and verifying favorites in Salesforce.
When working with Leapwork, you can create custom automation flows by following the steps outlined in the Web Automation Tutorial training video.
Once your flow is created, you can run it locally or in the cloud:
To schedule your flow to run at specific times, follow the instructions in the article Guide to Scheduling Flow.
Once you've executed a set of automation flows, the natural next step is to report on the results. Check out the tutorial on Reports and Dashboards.
In the Trial setup, clients share three cloud agents, this setup may lead to cases where an agent is already in use by another client when you try to run a flow.
If another user is currently using the Cloud Agent when you try to run a flow, you’ll receive an information message.
CAUTION: Avoid clicking Takeover Connection as it will interrupt the current automation. Instead, select a different agent from the list, or try running the flow later or by scheduling it.
In the screenshot below, you can see that Cloud Agent02 is free and ready to use, while Agent01 is currently in use by another user.
